The
COSW currently has over 50 members from the region
in and around Bend, Oregon. The Guild provides
the ability to network, share, learn and teach
your craft with others who share the same passion.
COSW meets monthly (except December and January)
on the third Wednesday from 9:30 a.m to 12:00
noon. Meetings are usually held at the Redmond,
OR library. Visitors should email the contact
listed below to confirm the meeting date, place
and time of our meetings. In addition to the
general meetings we hold monthly spin-ins, held
on the second Wednesday of the month. Weaving
study groups meet at various times. All members
have access to a wonderful library and may rent
fiber processing and weaving equipment from
the Guild.
Creed
To foster the arts
of weaving and spinning,
to stimulate further interest in the crafts
for those who are already engaged in them,
and to stimulate interest in the crafts for
others.
We attempt to hold 2 workshops a year for our
members, one focusing on weaving and one on
spinning. As part of our community out-reach
the Guild members demonstrate spinning and weaving
in the exhibit hall at the Deschutes County
Fair every year. Membership is open to anyone
who is interested in fiber arts and their creation.
Membership fees are $25.00 a year for the calendar
year January through December.
Dues are prorated after July 1 for members joining after January 1.
