Living Treasure
Award
The Montana Association of Weavers and Spinners
presents a "Living Treasure" award
for excellence every other year at our bi-annual
conferences. During our last conference, in
July 2002.two of our guild members, Coby Johnson
and Karla Long were presented with the "Living
Treasure Award" by the MAWS board. (Montana
Association of Weavers and Spinners). This award
"is given to a person who has demonstrated
excellent craftsmanship, has been a source of
inspiration and knowledge to others and has
contributed to the development of the fiber
arts on a state, regional and/or national level.
The goal is to establish a method of paying
tribute to the "living treasures"
in the fiber arts."
