I have been teaching textile processes for 40 years, first in NYC & Chicago and then 30 years full time at the Alberta College of Art & Design.  I have taught all levels of weavers, spinners & natural dyers.  I also have done production weaving and major commissions.

Creating Visual Texture through Color Progressions, 2 days.  This workshop will explore the possibilities of multi-color warps and wefts to create a variety of visual textures using basic tabby weave.  This approach can be used to weave a variety of very different material on the same piece of cloth and thus is well suited to weaving an ensemble of coordinated garments.

Flesberg Bound Weave, 2 days.  This workshop explores a 3-harness system of bound weave practiced in the southwest Burkerude, Norway.  Unlike Krokbragd, this method uses an odd threading repeat. It allows for expansion beyond the 2 block patterning of Krokbragd.

Sculptural Double Weave on 4-harness loom, 2 days.  This workshop will explore how to weave various 3 dimensional shapes for free form sculpture as well as seamless handbags, pillows, garments, dolls, and large triangular shawls.

Twining, 2 days.  This workshop will explore Salish and Maori twining using a variety of materials.  Samples will explore the various slanting stitches in one and two colors.  Students will then design and begin twining their own pieces.
