I take my inspiration from my environment, may it be land formations, architectural structures, the colour of the sky at sunset or such recent occurrences as the devastating forest fires that swept through Alberta and B. C. this past summer. Photographs often help me capture the image for future exploration. While I work my ideas through on paper first I always try to translate them into fabric, thread and fibre. I focus on combining techniques and media in original, one-of-a-kind pieces, with an emphasis on dimensionality. I continually experiment to find new ways to add the third dimension to fabric and paper.
